KUALA TERENGGANU, Dec 22 — The roof of another public building collapsed yesterday, six months after the roof of the main stadium in the state came crashing down.

This time, the 150m-long glass roof of the express bus and taxi terminal, which was to open soon, in Kuala Berang crashed, sending shards of glass over the area. Four workers were hurt from broken pieces of glass.

About 15 workers were installing glass panes at the terminal when the incident occurred.

The terminal was scheduled to be opened in February. Preliminary checks revealed that the incident could have occurred due to poor workmanship.

Construction of the terminal began in March last year. The project is under the jurisdiction of the Hulu Terengganu District Council.

The state has been in the news following reports about shoddy construction of buildings.

In June, the roof of the RM300 million Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium here collapsed. The stadium was only a year old.

A month later, the Public Works Department closed the RM18 million Batu Burok Aquatic Complex after declaring it unsafe.
