KUALA TERENGGANU: Police have detained two men in connection with the murder of 34-year-old Mohd Sukri Hussin, who was allegedly stabbed by his future brother-in-law.
Terengganu CID chief Asst Comm Wan Abd Aziz Wan Hamzah (pic above) said police arrested the suspect’s 27-year-old friend, who had driven the getaway car, and his 55-year-old uncle who was supposed to hide the vehicle.
The duo has been remanded for seven days from Monday.
ACP Wan Abd Aziz said the driver, from Kampung Dusun Tembakau was detained about 4.30pm Sunday after police raided a house at Kampung Buluh Gading here.
“Police retrieved the car from beside a cow shed in Kampung Dusun Tembakau,” he said, adding that police have intensified the search for the suspect, aged 29, from Kampung Baloh Manir here.

The family had come from Kelantan to verify that the husband-to-be was a bachelor as he had claimed.
However, they were shocked to learn that the man was already married – department records showed that he wed a 24-year-old woman six years ago.
Both the man and Mohd Sukri started to argue in the car park and as it grew more heated, the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed him.
Police arrived to find the body of the victim, an employee of the Kelantan Road Transport Department, in a pool of blood with six stab wounds to the neck and chest.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder – thestaronline
