Perikatan Nasional’s latest leadership restructuring was undertaken to strengthen the coalition and prepare it for future challenges.
PN deputy chairman Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said the changes, which took immediate effect, were discussed during a meeting yesterday.
He said a separate meeting involving Pas members of parliament and assemblymen was also held later in the evening to discuss preparations for the upcoming Parliament sitting.
His remarks came following PN’s announcement last night that Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali and Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin had been dropped from the coalition’s leadership line-up.
PN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar had said Azmin had been relieved of his duties as deputy secretary-general, while Radzi was removed as election director. NST
