Pas and Bersatu will campaign separately in the Johor state election despite contesting under the Perikatan Nasional (PN) logo and receiving their appointment letters from the same authority.
Both parties will also run their own election machinery and campaign teams in the constituencies they are contesting.
Pas deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man confirmed the arrangement, saying cooperation between the two parties would continue independently on the ground.
“Yes, each party will use its own machinery. In terms of the relationship between Pas and Bersatu, both will work independently to ensure the success of their respective candidates,” he told Utusan Malaysia.
The separate approach was also reflected in the announcement of candidates, with Pas unveiling its PN candidates in Bakri, while Bersatu held a separate event in Pagoh.
