A PKR leader who lodged a police report against a deputy minister for allegedly being involved in the supply of college girls to VIPs a decade ago said today he had given police copies of several documents to support his claims.

M.S. Arjunan, 50, head of the Taman Ehsan, Ipoh PKR branch, said he was called in by Negri Sembilan police and had his statement recorded for 90 minutes on Monday.

At a press conference today, he claimed that after he lodging the police report on Saturday at the Brickfields police station, four other former students of a college in Negri Sembilan had called him and made similar allegations about Datuk M. Saravanan, who is the Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing Deputy Minister.

Arjunan, who had contested for the Chenderiang state seat in the last election but lost, said he had CCTV footage which will shed light into his claims.

“The CCTV was taken in a hotel but I cannot say more. We have handed it over to our lawyer and when the case goes to court we will produce evidence,” he said.

Arjunan had lodged the report after receiving a letter from a person claiming to be the father of one of the female college students.

Asked if he had particulars of the sender to facilitate police probe into the claims, he said: “We do not have such details and we will leave it to the police to find out. We hope the police will be thorough and not make premature statements even before investigating the case. We will also send letters to Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak.”

Present at the press conference were Ipoh Barat PKR Youth member and student leader A. Kalaimugilan.

He said police and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) should also investigate Saravanan’s financial background and alleged that the deputy minister was related to MIC president Datuk Seri S.Samy Vellu.

Saravanan, when contacted, urged police to probe the case and declined to comment on Arjunan’s claims.

“I do not wish to say anything and will let the police do their investigations. I will only decide on the next course of action after the police have revealed their findings,” he said.

Federal CID director commissioner Datuk Mohd Bakri Zinin had said on Monday that police will investigate the claims.
