There have been 53 police reports made against Penang Deputy Chief Minister II Dr P. Ramasamy (pic), including one from himself, said Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun.
The Inspector-General of Police said this when asked to comment on allegations of possible links between the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), a terrorist organisation based in northeastern Sri Lanka, and Dr Ramasamy.
“As of yesterday, there had been 53 reports. We are currently investigating the matter.
“While originally the investigation was being handled by the Penang police, I have instructed Bukit Aman to take over, as it is a case of interest.
“If we need to record his statement, we will,” he said at a press conference at Persada Plus here on Thursday.
In an unrelated matter, the IGP said that he hopes former Sabah Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman will comply with his request to return to Malaysia.
“We hope he responds to our request and appropriate action will be taken then,” he said.- thestar
