Kuala Terengganu: A man was arrested after he allegedly stole instant coffee from a supermarket here and punched a female employee, today.
Nur Azrin Mustafa, 21, said the man punched her three times in the face as he tried to flee when the supermarket’s driver found two packets of instant coffee in his shirt at about 3.30pm.
“I was at the counter when I noticed a customer behaving suspiciously. He later stuffed a few packets of instant coffee into his shirt.
“I told the driver to keep watch on him. As he was leaving, the driver stopped and searched his body, and found two packers of Nescafe worth RM21.69 in his shirt,” Nur Azrin told reporters here.
She said the man became aggressive and kicked the driver and punched her face three times.
“He threatened to jab the driver with a syringe, but the driver was able to grab his shirt and overpowered by him,” she said, adding that the man was caught not far from the supermarket and handed over to the police. — Bernama
