Policeman And Brother Slashed Over Tortoise Misunderstanding

KUALA TERENGGANU, April 12 – A policeman and his brother were slashed by parang wielding men after some misunderstanding over a tortoise in Permaisuri, Setiu Monday.

Setiu police chief DSP Rohaizat Abd Ani said the incident occured at 7.30pm when the policeman’s brother, 22, asked a girlfriend, 20s, to take care of his tortoise.

He said suddenly two men believed to be her friends came and said they were unhappy with the security guard’s request.

“They then assaulted him behind a supermarket. The victim then phoned his policeman brother who arrived minutes later and tried to rescue him.

“Suddenly three men, two armed with parangs, came and slashed them.”

Rohaizat said they suffered light injury to the eyes and wrists and lodged a police report.

The five assailants escaped in a black Honda CRV toward the direction of Jertih.

Police are tracking five men (in 20s and 30s) to help investigation under Section 353 of Penal Code.
