KUALA TERENGGANU: The father of popular 80s singer, Francisca Peter (pic), was found dead in his rented house in Taman Seri Dungun last night, police said.
The body of Lucian Gaberial Peter or his Muslim name Muhammad Gaberial Peter Abdullah, 78, was found with his face down by the friend of one of his children, who was told to look for him at 10.30pm last night.
Mohammad Gaberial had worked as a reporter with the New Straits Times in the 70s.
Dungun OCPD Supt Dahlan Mohd Noor confirmed the incident and said that police had classified the case as a sudden death.
District Islamic religious officer Adnan Mohamad confirmed that Muhammad Gaberial converted to Islam in 2007.
His body was buried at the Muslim Cemetery at Kampung Sura Tengah this afternoon.
