KUALA TERENGGANU: A total of 640 personnel from the Terengganu Fire and Rescue Department will be on duty in the event of fire breakouts and accidents during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri festive season.
Its director Azlimim Mat Noor said only 20 percent of the 800 members statewide were given leave while the rest were deployed to prepare for any emergency cases and accidents that often occurred during the festive seasons.
“To deal with road mishaps, the Terengganu department has stationed two rescue teams at the East Coast Expressway (LPT) 2.
“Each of these teams, with 10 members each, are stationed at the Ajil Toll and the Perasing Rest and Service area to conduct patrols and to provide fast and accurate service to LPT2 users.
“This operation will include patrolling at peak hours between 10am and noon, he said at a media conference at the Kuala Terengganu station. – Bernama
