On behalf of Perikatan Nasional (PN), we extend our sincere congratulations to His Excellency C.Joseph Vijay and his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), on their electoral success in the state of Tamil Nadu and his swearing-in as Chief Minister yesterday.
This victory reflects the confidence of the people in his vision for reform, justice, social harmony, youth empowerment, modernization and opposition to divisive and discriminatory politics.
As a former actor more popularly known as Thalapathy Vijay, he is widely admired in Malaysia, particularly among our Indian youths for his artistic achievements, humanitarian image and public leadership.
His political rise has therefore been followed with great interest and enthusiasm by many, especially in light of the longstanding historical, cultural and linguistic ties between Tamil Nadu and Malaysians of Indian descent.
PN wishes him every success in leading Tamil Nadu towards greater progress, stability and prosperity.
