Former Maharani assemblyman Dr Mohammad Taslim died at the Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital (HPSF) here this afternoon.
He was 75.
He was reported to have died at 4.20pm from a ruptured major blood vessel.
The news of his passing was confirmed by Johor Pas deputy commissioner II Dr Mohd Mazri Yahya.
“Allahyarham passed away at HPSF this afternoon,” he said when contacted.
Family members said Dr Mohammad’s body would be taken home to Taman Bunga Raya for final rites.
“The body will be bathed and shrouded at home before funeral prayers, followed by burial at the Parit Bakar Tengah Muslim cemetery after Isyak prayers,” the family said in a Facebook post.
Dr Mohammad served as the Maharani assemblyman for two terms under Pas from 2008 to 2018.
He lost the seat in the 14th General Election to Pakatan Harapan. NST
