– SAFETY OF MALAYSIANS MUST BE PRIORITISED
Muslimat PAS Perak strongly condemns the heinous act of Israhell in intimidating, intercepting, and detaining the Global Sumud Flotilla, which was on a purely humanitarian mission to Gaza.
We are gravely concerned about the safety of the 12 Malaysian citizens who were on board the flotilla, courageously joining hundreds of international volunteers to deliver humanitarian aid to Palestinians suffering under an illegal blockade for nearly two decades. Their detention is unacceptable, unlawful, and a direct violation of international human rights and maritime law.
We stress the following:
1.Humanitarian missions cannot be criminalised. Israhell’s action is a blatant act of aggression and an attempt to silence international solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
2.The detention of 12 Malaysians and other volunteers raises serious concerns over their safety and well-being. The Malaysian Government must act swiftly through diplomatic and international channels to secure their immediate release.
3.The United Nations (UN), Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the wider international community must not turn a blind eye to this continued violation of humanitarian principles. Strong pressure must be exerted on Israhell to stop its intimidation, lift the blockade, and allow unhindered humanitarian access.
4.Muslimat PAS Perak affirms its unwavering solidarity with the flotilla activists and with the people of Palestine, who continue to embody the spirit of sumud (steadfastness and resilience) despite relentless oppression.
5.We pray for the safety of all volunteers, especially our fellow Malaysians, and urge every concerned party to stand up against this injustice. The world must not remain silent in the face of Israhell’s barbaric actions.
“And what is [the matter] with you that you fight not in the cause of Allah and for the oppressed among men, women, and children who say, ‘Our Lord, take us out of this city of oppressive people and appoint for us from Yourself a protector and appoint for us from Yourself a helper’?”
