The Terengganu segment of ECRLs’ project is among the fastest to be completed as land issues were resolved earlier, coupled with its flat geographical terrain, which posed fewer construction challenges.
The East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project spanning four states Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang and Selangor, has recorded 87% overall progress as of August.
“In Terengganu, track works are almost completed. The only sections yet to be finished are from Bentong to Gombak, particularly the Genting Tunnel up to Gombak, which is the most challenging segment,” Transport Minister said.
He said progress in Kelantan and Terengganu remains on track as most of the construction work there has been completed.
