This year Chinese New Year is celebrated when the economic situation throughout the country is facing a serious situation. According to the Chinese lunar calendar this year is the year of the monkey. Monkey is the ninth animal star in a cycle of 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac.
Malaysia has always given the opportunity to every believer celebrated every festival of religious and cultural each year without any obstacles.
It is the hope of every layer of a multi-racial society and religion in this country can celebrate the New Year in harmony besides respecting each other.
In Sarawak people of different races and ethnic and multi-religious can live in harmony without any problems. This should be maintained so that Malaysians will always respect the customs and culture of each other without any feelings of prejudice.
The country will be peaceful when we can get to know the culture and customs of a people well. It can also prevent us from misconceptions and will be able to foster unity among races and religions.
Hopefully the relationship between race and religion in our country will continue to be maintained. We can live in peace and harmony of all feelings of suspicion and threat of evil elements from outside who want to damage the relationship between race and religion in this country.
In Islam we are taught to respect the religious beliefs of each and banned from trespassing or damaging places of worship of other religions. Islam is a religion of peace and forbids its followers to be extreme.
To those who on vacation and return home, take care while driving may safely reach their respective destinations.
Sarawak PAS would like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy New Year to all, especially the Chinese community in this country so that the relationship between race and religion fostered closer and more harmonious regardless of their political affiliation.
Happy Chinese New Year
