KUALA TERENGGANU, April 10 (Bernama) — The Terengganu FA will quickly discuss the issue of a player who was detained by police for suspicion of using methamphetamine pills (pill kuda) during a raid at a hotel in Jalan Tok Lam.

Terengganu FA President Datuk Che Mat Jusoh said the case needed to be discussed quickly since it involved the law and the image of the association.

“We cannot wait to discuss such cases,” he told Bernama here today when asked to comment on a Terengganu player who was detained by police on suspicion of using drugs.

Newspaper reports today claimed that the player was detained together with a policeman at the hotel while the rest of the players were in Alor Star for the FA Cup second leg semi-final against Kedah.

Che Mat said the player’s contract with the team may be terminated if found guilty, while the association had temporarily suspended his services.

“Though difficult to find a replacement, the FA will take stern action against those who tarnish the image of the team or the state,” he said.
