The 40-year-old teacher at SM Agama Ladang also tested positive for ganja.

Police seized RM3,250 in cash, believed to be from the man’s ill-gotten gains from drug sales, when they searched the house at 1am.

Terengganu narcotics chief Supt Roslan Abd Wahid said there was a possibility that the teacher had even supplied drugs to his students.

“The suspect tried to fool our officers by claiming the drugs were for his own use,” he said. “However, the amount of drugs and cash found indicates that he could be a trafficker,” he said at the state police headquarters here yesterday.

The teacher has been remanded until April 11. In a separate case, a drug trafficker was detained for supplying syabu to addicts in Terengganu, Kelantan and Pahang.

Supt Roslan said police seized RM25,000 worth of syabu from the suspect at a rest house in Setiu on March 29.

The suspect was also found to have illegally married a 17-year-old girl in Thailand. “A marriage card found on the suspect revealed that they had been married in Narathiwat,” he said, adding that police were looking for the girl’s parents. –The Star/ANN
