With the increase of petrol prices that is uncertain after the removal of subsidies will certainly troublesome the user and will cause the people had to be thrifty in spending, especially in this festive season. However PAS continue welfare activities with local communities regardless of the time.
In the conjunction of the Chinese New Year recently, PAS Miri has distributed the Chinese New Year greetings cards and also oranges to the Chinese communities around Miri city.
The main purpose of PAS distributing the Chinese New Year greetings cards and oranges to the Chinese community is as symbol of respect racial festivals and local culture.
By having of this kind of program, it will strengthen the relationship between religions and racial in this country although there is a hot issue that could affect the PAS relationships with the people but when they be familiar with PAS closely they know that what is being portrayed by the media is just propaganda to tarnish the image of PAS.
PAS Miri always hold close all races in Miri, irrespective of race and religion. With such activities, the community in Miri will easily know the PAS closely and of this will indirectly erode the fear and misunderstanding of Muslim and non-Muslim communities against PAS all this while.
There are many who consider PAS as an Islamic party that is only for Muslims but they do not know that PAS had existed of PAS supporters’ congress (DHPP) which consists of various races and religion that to be a liaison between religious and ethnic groups in the country.
PAS has long resided in Miri in particular, and then it is time that PAS can represent all races and religions for the sake of justice and welfare for all.
If PAS cannot be accepted by the community of all races and religions in Sarawak, PAS certainly did not get any support from Muslim and non-Muslim communities during the 13th general election ago and will not remain long in Miri and Sarawak.
Once they get an understanding of the struggle of PAS and Islam, they believe that the PAS is not an extreme that is suitable only for one race or religion but it can be accepted by all races and religions in the country after become acquainted.
Upon approaching the different communities and religions committed by PAS Miri all this while, has been shown increase positive support from the local community, whether from Muslim and non-Muslim.
We will always give explanations and clarifications to multiracial society and religions in Miri in particular, that the appearance of PAS in Miri is not just as a political party and missionary alone but will jointly with the Pakatan Rakyat for justice and give welfare to all races regardless of race, religion and political affiliation.
