July 3: Sole Kedah DAP representative and Kota Darul Aman assemblyman Lee Guan Aik declared himself as an “independent and non-aligned” state assemblyman and no longer a government supporter.

July 3: DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng warned developer Nusmetro Ventures (P) Sdn Bhd that the state government will stop the project in Kampung Buah Pala, Bukit Gelugor, if it continues to threaten to demolish the houses in area and refuses to compensate the residents.

July 2: DAP’s Karpal Singh thrown out of Dewan Rakyat during debate on Privileges Committee recommendations on fine vs Umno Youth who confronted Karpal in February. Opposition MPs stage walkout during voting on recommendation but motion was approved by remaining Barisan Nasional MPs.

July 2: Court of Appeal dismisses Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s appeal, sodomy trial remains at KL High Court.

July 2: Pakatan Rakyat announces lineup for 25 committees to oversee government ministries.

July 1: Sessions Court allows extension until Oct 9 to execute a warrant of arrest against Malaysia Today editor Raja Petra Kamarudin for failing to turn up for his criminal defamation trial. The court also gave same time to the prosecution to serve notice of show-cause to RPK’s wife Marina Lee Abdullah.
