SHAH ALAM, June 6 — Newly-elected PAS deputy president Nasharudin Mat Isa today led members in condemning Perak’s political impasse at the party’s 55th general assembly.

He explained that the party has taken the state’s crisis at a maximum level and has lost patience with both Barisan Nasional and Umno.

Nasharudin said the support shown by the people of Perak during the Bukit Gantang by-election illustrates the frustration and anger experienced by the state.

“There is no longer any democracy. BN has robbed the people of Perak of their rights. PAS wants the state assembly to be abolished and give the rights back to the people,” Nasharudin said.

As Nasharudin was speaking, the ‘Superman’ movie theme song began blasting through the speakers as the audience stood up with “Bubar DUN (Abolish Assembly)” written on their headbands.

As Datuk Seri Nizar Jamaluddin, Datuk Seri Hadi Awang, Nasharudin reached the front of the stage, the whole stadium began chants of “Abolish the assembly” and , “Destroy Umno!”

All in attendance, from the central committee, delegates to ordinary members, stood up in solidarity and showed support for Perak and its ousted mentri besar.
