Bernama reported, the family trip to town to purchase wedding-related items for a daughter turned tragic when the family’s multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) collided head-on with a trailer lorry at the 18km Jalan Kuala Berang-Kuala Terengganu about 3.40pm.
Ghazali or wll known as Pak Su Li, died on the spot while his wife and daughter succumbed to their injuries on the way to the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital and Bukit Payong Health Clinic, respectively.
The injured were the couple’s other children, Mariani, 28, who was scheduled to get married on March 16, Farazila, 22, Mohd Aidil, 15, Aiman Shafiq, 13, and grandson Farham Ariffin, eight.
Marang police public order and traffic chief Chief Inspector Insp Rafii Shaari said the mishap occurred near Kampung Binjai Rendah.
He said that at the time, the family was heading to Kuala Terengganu town to purchase wedding-related items for Mariani.
Rafii said the lorry driver who sustained head and body injuries was warded at the hospital.
Meanwhile, Raziah’s husband, when met at the morgue, said the police informed him of the crash at 5.18pm.
Although traumatised by the news, the Sekolah Kebangsaan Padang Setebu hostel supervisor said he accepted his wife’s death as “fated”.
