KUALA LUMPUR, June 17 — Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir today ridiculed the proposal by PAS’s secretary-general to include Party Keadilan Rakyat and DAP in the discussion to form a unity government.

Mustafa Ali told reporters today that his party was not willing to talk to Umno if the ruling Malay party was not willing to talk to PKR and DAP.

Mukhriz said the original proposal was to have talks between Umno and PAS only. He also felt that it was not suitable to invite PKR and DAP to the unity talks.

“The issue should not have been raised because I feel that there are many matters that need to be discussed between Umno and PAS only. I feel that at this moment the discussions should be between these two parties only,” he said.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak had recently told the media that he could sense that the Islamist party was “sincere” in wanting to form a unity government and that he would not reject any cooperation that could bring good to the country.
