The fishermen, aged between 23 and 27, were detained after their boat capsized in Tok Jembal waters here on Sunday night.

The fishermen, a Thai and three Cambodians, had swum to shore after their boat was hit by tidal waves and slammed against a rock at about 7pm.

Terengganu CID chief Asst Comm K. Manoharan (picture) said police detained all four suspects at a coffee shop near the beach.

“They had no proper travel documents,” he said.

He said the suspects had been remanded for 14 days to facilitate investigations.-TheStarOnline
