Farewell Tiger of Jelutong

The news of the passing of a Malaysia’s political great YB Karpal Singh in a car accident early this morning came as a shock to all. Having endured so many life threatening incidents throughout his career as a servant to public causes, one would have thought that he would find certain peace in a more rested circumstance, only to see another tragic incident finally making a claim on his life at this most untimely moment.

Ir Khairil Nizam KahiruddinWhile we may have our pointed differences, YB Karpal’s significant role in uniting the opposition front has indeed changed the political landscape. For once, change feels inevitable and for such his legacy in Malaysian politics is forever cemented.

His dedication to his works and idealism are surely stuff of legends for aspiring generations of youth.

Our heartfelt condolences goes to the family and friends of the Tiger of Jelutong and those killed in the accident and our prayers for speedy recovery to those injured. As the famous Malay adage goes…”Harimau mati meninggalkan belang, manusia mati meninggalkan nama”. They are truly befitting words to honour YB Karpal’s tireless deeds towards making Malaysia a better country for all.

Farewell YB-sir. Long will you be remembered.
