Saying he had received reliable information from Jais sources, PAS secretary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali alleged that Umno had a role in the Aug 3 raid.
“I must reveal such information as there has been much speculation about the raid,” he told reporters at the state PAS headquarters here yesterday.
Mustafa said normally, the Selangor Mentri Besar, the state exco and Jais director would be responsible for the department’s actions but all three were only informed after the raid was conducted.
He added that the party’s stand had always been clear – it would not protect anyone who tried to make Muslims murtad (convert them).
“However, I was informed that Jais deliberately postponed action against those who tried to convert Muslims so that it becomes a political issue. The aim is to destabilise the Selangor Government and disunite the Pakatan Rakyat component parties,” he said.
Mustafa urged the party’s leaders and members not to be trapped by Umno.
He added that he was ready to disclose all information to the Jais director during a meeting on a date which would be decided later -TheStarOnline
