KOTA BARU, July 9 – The PAS assemblyman for Galas in Gua Musang, Che Hashim Sulaima, 45, has been diagnosed with stomach cancer.
Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat said he had contacted Che Hashim yesterday to ask about the assemblyman’s condition.
“He was diagnosed with cancer and is ill. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy in Kuala Lumpur,” he told reporters in Kota Darulnaim here today.
According to a source, who is Che Hashim’s close friend, he is now frequently travelling to Kuala Lumpur to seek treatment for his stage 4 cancer.
“His family members are also rarely at their homes in Taman Tropika and Kampung Kerinting in Galas. According to them, his cancer is now at stage four,” he told Bernama.
Meanwhile, other PAS leaders and Che Hashim’s immediate family declined to reveal any information on his condition.
Bernama learnt that the PAS office in Gua Musang town held a tahlil and Yassin reading to pray for Che Hashim’s recovery.
Gua Musang Umno Youth chief Bazlan Baharuddin said he had also received the news from a member of Che Hashim’s family.
“I have tried to visit him, but didn’t get a chance as he was never at home. I’ve known about his illness, but only now is his condition said to be serious.
“The Umno Youth will also have Yassin reading to pray for his recovery,” he said. – Bernama
