On last Tuesday Miri hit by strong winds from the northeast and rough seas that caused several houses have been damaged roof and there are uprooted. Several residential areas and also village nearby seaside are victims of strong winds.
One of the residents staying nearby seaside in Kampung Batu Satu, Madam Haminah Bt Abdullah, said the incident at about 6 pm that caused part of the roof of her house at the kitchen and bedrooms damaged by strong winds. Fortunately there were no untoward incidents occurred on her family.
Madam Haminah Bt Abdullah 64 years old a new convert and single mother who lives with her eldest child with disabilities (PWDs) request local authority to help repairing the damaged roof of her house.
We also find her backyard need to be repaired because the pillar floor is quite rot and could collapse. The floor wooden beams are rotted and broken must be replaced immediately to prevent the wall of the house collapsed.
She who lives in Kampung Batu Satu at No 7752 had left by her husband which has a new wife. She has 6 children and one has died. Her eldest child was disabled and lived with her. Her daughter with disabilities receive assistance from the charity. She has no job because of her legs ailing she just stayed home with her children and grandchildren.
Their only hope for welfare assistance from government agencies because she has no source of fixed income. She is also asking for help from a related party in order to give a little help to repair her house which is quite dilapidated.
We urge the relevant parties to help immediately repair the roofs and her house floor which is quite dilapidated with a new one. Cooperation with the government and the relevant parties to resolve the people’s problems immediately is greatly appreciated.
