Twenty-three out of 29 fighters from Hamas’ military wing, the al-Qassam Brigades, have incredibly survived being stranded in a collapsed tunnel for 30 days, after it was flattened in the Israeli operations’ early days. Three out of the remaining six fighters died in an attack against Israeli military tanks while the rest three have gone missing.

‘The 29 fighters entered a tunnel in the al-Ghavafir region South of the Gaza Strip to make counter-attacks on Israeli forces and defend the Gaza people. During a month, the fighters achieved launching several attacks on Israeli troops in the operation called al-Asf al-Makul,’ said a fighter in a statement on the resistant movement’s official site.

in the attack,’ said the fighters, who survived at the end the 30-day ordeal.

The fighter said that they never lost their hope from Allah even at the most miserable circumstances, adding that all attacks conducted through the tunnel had been planned properly. ‘While the operations were underway, the number of martyrs rose to three when one more of us had been killed,” he explained.

‘We tried to make do with what we have left. Each of us was eating a half palm and drinking a half glass of water. We are still alive thank to Allah’s support,’ the Hamas fighter said.
