KUALA TERENGGANU – The Terengganu state government has decided to retain nine State Executive Councillors compared with 10 previously, by abolishing the Science and Technology, Environment, Energy, Green Technology and Water portfolio.

The portfolio which was previously held by Menteri Besar, Datuk Ahmad Razif Abd Rahman would be absorbed under the portfolio of two Exco members, namely the State Assemblymen for Kemasik, Ir Rosli Othman and Ajil Assemblyman, Ghazali Taib with a slight reshuffle of their portfolios previously.

Ahmad Razif said the tasks involving Environment, Energy, Green Technology and Water would be absorbed under the portfolio of the Chairman of the Infrastructure and Public Utility Committee (Ir Rosli).

“Previously, Rosli held the Public Works and Transport Portfolio while the tasks of Science and Technology would be absorbed by Ghazali who now holds the Education, Science, Technology and Special Functions Portfolio.

“Only these two Excos are affected in the changes in portfolios,” he told reporters after chairing the weekly Exco meeting, today.- Bernama
