Former Barisan Agriculture and Agro-based Industry deputy minister and a former Penang deputy chief minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shariff Omar has joined Pakatan.
“I came all the way from Penang to voice my support to Pakatan Rakyat. I felt that this is a calling,” he told the crowd at a ceramah held at Stadium Kajang here, Friday.
Present at the ceramah were PKR’s candidate Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ibrahim, Leader of opposition Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, DAP’s strong man Lim Kit Siang and PAS election director Hatta Ramli.
Besides Mohd Shariff, who has served as an assemblyman and Tasek Gelugor MP for six terms, five Umno division leaders have also joined the Pakatan.
