The Kelantan government will gazette an area covering 1,464.88 hectares in Sungai Rual, Jeli, and 577.26 hectares in Mukim Nenggiri, Bertam in Gua Musang, as Orang Asli settlements.
Following which, Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakub said, the state government would leave it to the Orang Asli Development Department to develop the land and provide the necessary structure for the Orang Asli.
He told this to reporters after chairing the state executive council meeting at the Kota Darul Naim Complex here today.
On the Auditor-General’s Report pertaining to Ladang Tapis Sdn Bhd (LTSB), a subsidiary of the Kelantan Economic Development Corporation, for paying bonus of up to 11.5 months salary in 2011, despite suffering losses, Ahmad said an investigation would be carried out. — BERNAMA
