KUALA TERENGGANU -Terengganu Health, Women, Family and Community Development Committee chairman Dr A Rahman Mokhtar, 55, was admitted to the Sultanah Nur Zahirah hospital (HSNZ) at around 1pm today.
The Kuala Besut assemblyman was believed to be suffering from a heart problem and was sent to the Besut hospital at around 9am due to chest pain and breathing difficulty.
However, his condition took a turn for the worse and he was referred to HSNZ and sent to the hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU) at 1pm.
State assembly speaker Zubir Embong was seen outside the ICU but members of the media were not allowed in.
Efforts to get confirmation from state Health director Datuk Dr Anwa Sulaiman also failed and the State Secretary’s office also denied having any knowledge of Dr A Rahman’s health condition.
