State CID chief, ACP K. Manoharan said in the 7.30pm incident, the victim sustained injuries to his arm and needed six stitches at the Kemaman hospital where he received outpatient treatment.
“We believe the motive for the attack was infuriation upon seeing the victim enter his garden and cut banana leaves,” he told reporters here yesterday.
The 59-year-old suspect lodged a police report at the Kijal police station, where the victim had also lodged a report.
