Terengganu CID Chief ACP K. Manoharan said the baby was found by the imam and ustaz of the mosque at about 6am when both went to the mosque to perform the Subuh prayers.

Upon entering the prayer area for men, they were shocked to find a baby girl wrapped in an orange coloured towel.

“Based on blood stains and intact umbilical cord, we believe the baby was just born. We are still trying to identify the parents of the baby,” he told reporters here today.

Manoharan said the baby weighing 3.4kg was later sent to the Setiu Hospital for a medical checkup.

He also urged anyone with information to come forward and contact the nearest police station. Bernama
