PAS Dewan Ulama chief Datuk Ustaz Harun Taib, 70, died at around 12.10am Saturday at Sultanah Nur Hazirah Hospital in Kuala Terengganu.
He was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday.
Harun was the Manir assemblyman for five terms but did not contest in the 13th general election (GE13) due to his failing health.
His son Hilmi Harun took his place as the Pas candidate for Manir and successfully defended the seat in GE13.
The funeral will be held at Markaz Tarbiyah Kubang Lembik at 10am on Saturday.
