Pahang Pas has expanded its Rumah Budi project for underprivileged families with the construction of a third unit in Kampung Batu Hitam, Beserah here, today.
The RM80,000 unit will be offered to a selected recipient and built through a fundraising initiative.
Pahang Pas deputy commissioner Datuk Andansura Rabu said the Rumah Budi project was launched by the party’s central leadership about three years ago and two houses had been built in Pahang.
“We have built Rumah Budi units in Tanjung Lumpur (Kuantan) and Felda Keratong 1 (Rompin).
“Construction of the third unit in Kampung Batu Hitam will begin soon. The fourth unit is planned for the Semambu constituency next year.
“This is an initiative by Pas through our Welfare and Social Committee to help rural residents own a home,” he said after the Rumah Budi launch in Kampung Batu Hitam here today.
Andansura, who is Beserah assemblyman, said the Rumah Budi project was fully funded by contributions from members of the public and party members.
“We are not trying to compete with anyone or the Pahang government.
“We introduced Rumah Budi to help provide comfortable housing to selected recipients, within our means.
“Pas wants to show that even with limited financial resources, we can make such housing projects a reality.”
The Rumah Budi initiative aims to build affordable homes costing RM80,000 each to provide underprivileged families with a roof over their heads. – NST
