Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s policy speech amounted to a bold declaration of political war, although he stopped short of naming its target, said PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari.
Fadhli, who was part of a PAS delegation attending the 2026 Umno General Assembly here today, said Zahid’s proposals on Tafahum Siyasi, Umno-Pas unity without a third party, the Grand Coalition and the “Blue Malaysia” agenda made the speech particularly significant.
“I regard this speech as a bold declaration of political war by the Umno president.
“Twenty-five years ago, the World Trade Centre in New York was the site of a physical attack. Today, WTC Kuala Lumpur became the stage for a political attack.
“Who is this war being declared against? That is what is interesting to watch from now on, although everyone can already guess,” he said in a post after attending the assembly.NST
