{"id":943,"date":"2009-10-07T04:06:31","date_gmt":"2009-10-06T20:06:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/buletinonline.net\/v7\/index.php\/2009\/10\/pas-to-seek-court-order-to-postpone-polls\/"},"modified":"2009-10-07T04:06:31","modified_gmt":"2009-10-06T20:06:31","slug":"pas-to-seek-court-order-to-postpone-polls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buletinonlines.net\/v7\/index.php\/pas-to-seek-court-order-to-postpone-polls\/","title":{"rendered":"PAS to seek court order to postpone polls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PORT DICKSON, Oct 7 \u2014 Alleging that some of the postal voters are also ordinary registered voters, PAS today said it will seek a court order to postpone polling for the Bagan Pinang by-election scheduled for this Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to reporters at the media briefing today, PAS vice-president Salahuddin Ayub said the party will first meet the Election Commission (EC) this afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This afternoon we will meet with the Election Commission to demand a clean-up of the electoral roll,&#8221; said Salahuddin.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If the EC does not do so we will not hesitate to take legal action, we will get our legal team to seek a court injunction to postpone polling,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>Some 4,600 of the more than the 13,000 voters in the Bagan Pinang state constituency are members of the security forces.<\/p>\n<p>The postal voters, traditionally a safe vote bank for Barisan Nasional (BN), will vote tomorrow while ordinary voters will go to the polls on Sunday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PORT DICKSON, Oct 7 \u2014 Alleging that some of the postal voters are also ordinary registered voters, PAS today said it will seek a court order to postpone polling for the Bagan Pinang by-election scheduled for this Sunday.
