{"id":8245,"date":"2012-02-01T01:58:27","date_gmt":"2012-01-31T17:58:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/buletinonline.net\/v7\/index.php\/2012\/02\/more-woes-at-roof-collapse-stadium\/"},"modified":"2012-02-01T01:58:27","modified_gmt":"2012-01-31T17:58:27","slug":"more-woes-at-roof-collapse-stadium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buletinonlines.net\/v7\/index.php\/more-woes-at-roof-collapse-stadium\/","title":{"rendered":"More woes at roof collapse stadium"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/-kD77D2Tr6gI\/TyiUQsimZ8I\/AAAAAAAABu0\/G9HLSQO_MXo\/s400\/curi%2520stadium1.jpg\" border=\"0\" width=\"400\" height=\"267\" style=\"float: right; margin: 3px;\" \/>THE Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium in Kuala Terengganu,  which grabbed the headlines three years ago when a large part of its  roof collapsed, has lost more than RM50mil in electrical wiring,  equipment and other fittings to thieves.<\/p>\n<p>The thefts were believed to have taken place since 2010 during clearing work of the debris caused by the collapsed roof, <em>Berita Harian<\/em> said in an exclusive report.<\/p>\n<p>It  was another blow to the RM292mil stadium at the Gong Badak Sports  Complex, which will not be able to hold any major event for a long while  after it last hosted the Malaysia Games (Sukma) in 2008.<\/p>\n<p>An  official of the stadium&#8217;s management agency told the daily that despite a  police report lodged in December, the thefts had continued.<\/p>\n<p>The  paper&#8217;s investigative team found the stadium a sorry sight, with almost  every facility damaged, including the ultra-modern bowling alley.<\/p>\n<p>The  team found the bowling alley had been broken into from the ceiling by  cable thieves while the control room looked like a disaster zone.<\/p>\n<p>The  official said that following the roof collapse, minor damage was  detected throughout the stadium.
