PAS youth held a rally in the heart of the city to protest the high cost of living for Malaysians.<\/p>\n
The rally, called “Hit & Run Derita Rakyat”, started around 9pm on Monday (Dec 31) and lasted about an hour.<\/p>\n
The crowd, which gathered outside Sogo shopping complex, held up signs that called for lower fuel prices and the abolishment of PTPTN.<\/p>\n
PAS Youth chief Muhammad Khalil Abdul Hadi blamed the Pakatan Harapan government for the high costs of living. <\/p>\n
\u201cThey have made so many promises to ease the suffering of the people, but all we see is them going back on their word.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe cut in funding for farmers and fishermen announced in the budget is a blow for the common man,\u201d he said at the rally.<\/p>\n
He urged the government to think about the people and the promises they made to come into power.<\/p>\n
A light drizzle did not dampen the spirits of the protesters, who chanted and held up the signs to curious onlookers. <\/p>\n
