{"id":7010,"date":"2011-09-16T23:28:44","date_gmt":"2011-09-16T15:28:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/buletinonline.net\/v7\/index.php\/2011\/09\/drugs-worth-rm26-mln-seized-in-raids-2\/"},"modified":"2011-09-16T23:28:44","modified_gmt":"2011-09-16T15:28:44","slug":"drugs-worth-rm26-mln-seized-in-raids-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buletinonlines.net\/v7\/index.php\/drugs-worth-rm26-mln-seized-in-raids-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Drugs worth RM2.6 m seized in raids"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.theborneopost.com\/newsimages\/6011.jpg\" border=\"0\" width=\"350\" height=\"239\" style=\"float: right;\" \/>KUALA LUMPUR:<\/strong> Seven suspects  including four foreigners were detained and drugs worth RM2.6 million  were seized by police in the Klang Valley and Terengganu since Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Bukit  Aman Narcotics CID director Datuk Noor Rashid Ibrahim said the seven  suspects aged 20-41 years\u2019 old were involved in several drug trafficking  syndicates.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The first case involved the detention of three men including a Thai at Bandar Sri Damansara on Tuesday at about 11.15pm.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cAt first we detained a foreign man driving a Toyota Crown and subsequently detained two others in the same area.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cOn  checking the car, we found 60 slabs of compressed ganja hidden in a  secret compartment in a section of the car which has been modified,\u201d he  said<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Initial investigation found that the suspects were active  smuggling\u00a0 drugs from Thailand into Malaysia since the last three  months.<\/p>\n<p><em>[Picture &#8211; DRUG HAUL: Noor Rashid (centre) showing slabs of compressed ganja seized  in raids in the Klang Valley and Terengganu during a press conference  in Kuala Lumpur. Also present is his deputy Datuk Othman Harun (left). \u2013  Bernama photo]<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Noor Rashid said in the second case, three foreigners,  including a woman, were detained at 4.15am yesterday behind a petrol  kiosk in Jalan Duta<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cTwo men rushed out of the car to escape but were caught after a struggle. Also detained was a woman in the car.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cA check on the car found two backpacks containing 29 slabs of ganja weighing about 28.1 kg.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Investigation  of two Nigerian men and a Thai woman revealed that the drugs were  brought from Nigeria with transit in Thailand before they were smuggled  into Malaysia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Meanwhile, Terengganu police crippled a drug  trafficking syndicate with the detention of a local man aged 26-year-old  man on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cThe assorted drugs seized were 6,930 WY pills  worth RM173,250, five bottles\u00a0 heroin worth RM5,000 and cash amounting  RM31,000,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The suspects had been remanded while the cases  are investigated under Section 39 (B) Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which  carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction. \u2014 Bernama<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KUALA LUMPUR: Seven suspects including four foreigners were detained and drugs worth RM2.6 million were seized by police in the Klang Valley and Terengganu since Tuesday.
