KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 13 \u2014 Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat said today he will take legal action against Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing if the Barisan Nasional (BN) backbenchers\u2019 chief does not retract his claim to have \u201cdonated\u201d RM10 million to the MCA president.<\/p>\n
Ong told reporters today that he had also lodged a police report against Tiong for criminal defamation.<\/p>\n
The beleaguered transport minister said he had already instructed his lawyers to send a letter of demand to Tiong to withdraw his claim and apologise within seven days.<\/p>\n
Ong was forced yesterday to deny allegations that he had received a RM10 million donation last year from Kuala Dimensi Sdn Bhd (KDSB) CEO Tiong.<\/p>\n
However, he confirmed he had used the private jet owned by KDSB, the turnkey contractor of the scandal-hit Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) project, but he said his office was waiting to be billed for the services.<\/p>\n
The allegations made by Tiong will certainly give BN a headache and is the last thing a beleaguered MCA already wracked by infighting needs.<\/p>\n
The disclosure by Tiong, who is treasurer of Sarawak party SPDP, came after PKFZ\u2019s special task force said this week it had found disputed claims amounting to at least RM500 million.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday PKA chairman Datuk Lee Hwa Beng lodged a police report against KDSB and another party over the disputed claims.<\/p>\n
Tiong made the startling disclosure yesterday that he had donated RM10 million to Ong and that he was told the money was to be used for MCA\u2019s division activities.<\/p>\n
