New Mentri Besar Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar said the targets were to spur Terengganu as a tourism corridor apart from serving as hubs for international Islamic education, regional products and seafood, batik, ship repairing and heavy industries.<\/p>\n
In addition, Terengganu would also be a human resource development hub for the oil and gas industry and centre for the country\u2019s mineral resource industry.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe also have the integrated construction of the second phase of the East Coast Expressway (LPT2), the East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC) and the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe agriculture and agro-based sectors will also be strengthened through a more comprehensive value chain concept,\u201d he said in his speech at Wisma Darul Iman here today.<\/p>\n
Ahmad Samsuri, who is also Rhu Rendang state assemblyman was sworn in as the new Terengganu mentri besar at Istana Syarqiyyah last Friday.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile in a press conference, Ahmad Samsuri denied claims that the state government had dismissed the former government-appointed imam and had shut down the community hall as viralled on social media a few days ago.<\/p>\n
