PAS Youth will set up a task force to monitor the implementation of the GE14 manifestos for Kelantan and Terengganu.<\/p>\n
Its chief Muhammad Khalil Abdul Hadi (pic) said the task force will comprise a mix of PAS members and civilians.<\/p>\n
“What we mean by civilians is that we will include NGOs as well as community leaders,” he said after a special meeting among PAS central Youth members on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Muhammad Khalil said that leaders from the non-Muslim community will also be included in the task force.<\/p>\n
“In Kelantan, we have non-Muslim communities such as the Buddhists and Christians and it is the same in Terengganu,” he said.<\/p>\n
However, he did not give an indication on when the task force will be set up, only that it would be soon.<\/p>\n
Muhammad Khalil added that unlike other parties that have set timelines to implement promises made in their manifestos, PAS aims to get to work immediately.<\/p>\n
“We want to do everything in our power to fulfil as many of the items in the manifestos as soon as possible.<\/p>\n
“We don’t put down a timeline of 100-days for example, like other parties,” he said.<\/p>\n
In Terengganu, PAS put out a 20-point manifesto in the run up to GE14.<\/p>\n
Among the promises included free 20-cubic metres of water for the poor and low-income groups; allocating RM50mil a year to go toward the People’s Housing Loan Fund to help boost home ownership; and create 20,000 jobs opportunities in the next four years.<\/p>\n
PAS retook Terengganu after it won 22 out of the 32 state seats as well as six out of the eight parliamentary seats in GE14.<\/p>\n
The last time it ruled was after the 10th General Election in 1999.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile in Kelantan, PAS promised in its manifesto to strengthen Syariah laws, raise allowances for Imam and Bilal as well as strengthen Islamic tourism.<\/p>\n
