KOTA BARU, July 9 \u2013 The PAS assemblyman for Galas in Gua Musang, Che Hashim Sulaima, 45, has been diagnosed with stomach cancer.<\/font><\/p>\n

Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat said he had contacted Che Hashim yesterday to ask about the assemblyman\u2019s condition.<\/font><\/p>\n

\u201cHe was diagnosed with cancer and is ill. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy in Kuala Lumpur,\u201d he told reporters in Kota Darulnaim here today.<\/font><\/p>\n

According to a source, who is Che Hashim\u2019s close friend, he is now frequently travelling to Kuala Lumpur to seek treatment for his stage 4 cancer.<\/font><\/p>\n

\u201cHis family members are also rarely at their homes in Taman Tropika and Kampung Kerinting in Galas. According to them, his cancer is now at stage four,\u201d he told Bernama.<\/font><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, other PAS leaders and Che Hashim\u2019s immediate family declined to reveal any information on his condition.<\/font><\/p>\n

Bernama learnt that the PAS office in Gua Musang town held a tahlil and Yassin reading to pray for Che Hashim\u2019s recovery.<\/font><\/p>\n

Gua Musang Umno Youth chief Bazlan Baharuddin said he had also received the news from a member of Che Hashim\u2019s family.<\/font><\/p>\n

\u201cI have tried to visit him, but didn\u2019t get a chance as he was never at home. I\u2019ve known about his illness, but only now is his condition said to be serious.<\/font><\/p>\n
