KUALA TERENGGANU – Terengganu Education Department director Shafruddin Ali Hussin said 306 students out of 20,517 candidates who sat for SPM in the state scored straight As. <\/p>\n
The number is a decline from the 348 straight A-scorers in 2015.<\/p>\n
\u201cSekolah Menengah Sains Sultan Mahmud, with a School Average Grade (GPS) of 1.42 and SM Sains Kuala Terengganu, with a GPS of 2.14, are recorded as the top-performing schools in 2016,” he told reporters at a press conference at the Kuala Terengganu Education Department head office today.<\/p>\n
Shafruddin said the state\u2019s two top-scoring students are Husna Mardhiyyah Mohd Fauzi, from SM Imtiaz Kemaman, who scored 11A+s and Lam Sin Gee, from SMK Sultan Sulaiman, who scored 9A+s.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Nur Shuhada Alias from SMK Bukit Besar, who scored 5As and 1B, is the best-performing special needs candidate.<\/p>\n
Shafruddin said candidates\u2019 overall performance this year improved with 10,345 students passing all subjects, compared to10,264 in 2015.<\/p>\n
“A total of 12, or 35.29 per cent of special needs students, out of 34, also qualified for SPM certificates,” he added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
