Menteri Besar Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman today tabled a state budget of RM1.867 billion, a 10 per cent deficit against a projected revenue of RM1.697 billion.<\/p>\n
The 2017 Budget for the state would set aside RM466.9 million or 63 per cent for the development sector which comprised five sectors namely education, infrastructure and public amenities, rural and urban development, and sports and housing. <\/p>\n
The administration will receive RM197.17 million to be utilised for the information technology, special projects and general expenditure, and RM77.61 million for three sectors of the economy namely agriculture, tourism and small and medium industries. <\/p>\n
Razif said the government had taken drastic measures to adjust the allocations under the budget for this year following the sharp fall in oil prices towards the end of 2015. <\/p>\n
“We have controlled the expenses of every department. We need to find a balance because we expect revenue to drop. We are still dependent on world oil prices to set our benchmark. <\/p>\n
