KUALA TERENGGANU: Police have detained two men in connection with the murder of 34-year-old Mohd Sukri Hussin, who was allegedly stabbed by his future brother-in-law.<\/p>\n

Terengganu CID chief Asst Comm Wan Abd Aziz Wan Hamzah (pic above) said police arrested the suspect\u2019s 27-year-old friend, who had driven the getaway car, and his 55-year-old uncle who was supposed to hide the vehicle.<\/p>\n

The duo has been remanded for seven days from Monday.<\/p>\n

ACP Wan Abd Aziz said the driver, from Kampung Dusun Tembakau was detained about 4.30pm Sunday after police raided a house at Kampung Buluh Gading here.<\/p>\n

\u201cPolice retrieved the car from beside a cow shed in Kampung Dusun Tembakau,\u201d he said, adding that police have intensified the search for the suspect, aged 29, from Kampung Baloh Manir here.<\/p>\n

\"brutally<\/a>The victim’s sister, who was to be married to the murder suspect, and other members of her family are said to have witnessed the stabbing at the car park of the State Religious Department earlier in the day.<\/p>\n

The family had come from Kelantan to verify that the husband-to-be was a bachelor as he had claimed.<\/p>\n

However, they were shocked to learn that the man was already married \u2013 department records showed that he wed a 24-year-old woman six years ago.<\/p>\n

Both the man and Mohd Sukri started to argue in the car park and as it grew more heated, the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed him.<\/p>\n

Police arrived to find the body of the victim, an employee of the Kelantan Road Transport Department, in a pool of blood with six stab wounds to the neck and chest.<\/p>\n
