{"id":4992,"date":"2011-03-15T00:52:11","date_gmt":"2011-03-14T16:52:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/buletinonline.net\/v7\/index.php\/2011\/03\/ex-aides-money-laundering-case-set-for-april-8\/"},"modified":"2011-03-15T00:52:11","modified_gmt":"2011-03-14T16:52:11","slug":"ex-aides-money-laundering-case-set-for-april-8","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buletinonlines.net\/v7\/index.php\/ex-aides-money-laundering-case-set-for-april-8\/","title":{"rendered":"Ex-aide&#8217;s money laundering case set for April 8"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/buletinonline.net\/v7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/hasbie.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"http:\/\/buletinonline.net\/http:\/\/buletinonline.net\/v7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/hasbie.jpg\" style=\"float: left;\" \/>The Sessions Court here today set April 8 for remention to hear the  case of a money-laundering charge involving RM2 million against a former  political secretary to a minister, Hasbie Satar.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Tuan Ikmal Hishan Mohd Tajuddin made the decision after  Hasbie&#8217;s lawyer, Badrul Munir Mohd Bukhari asked the prosecution to  submit more detailed charges against the accused.<\/p>\n<p>Hasbie, 38, the former political secretary to Minister in the Prime  Minister&#8217;s Department Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop, allegedly committed  the offence in an apartment in Teluk Air Tawar at 3.30pm on Feb 11 last  year.<\/p>\n<p>He was charged under Section 4 (1) of the Anti-Money Laundering and  Anti-Terrorism Financing Act 2001, which carries a fine up to RM5mil or a  jail term up to five years or both, if convicted.<\/p>\n<p>On Feb 10, he pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court to a charge with money laundering, involving RM2,134,656 last year.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Badrul Munir said the charges submitted by the prosecution  were vague as they did not detail the types of offences allegedly  committed by the accused under the act.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There are many offences spelt out under the Anti-Money Laundering  and Anti-Terrorism Financing Act 2001.
