KUALA LUMPUR: Jelutong MP Jeff Ooi will give his full cooperation in investigations over his remarks on the death of PAS spiritual leader Datuk Dr Haron Din, said lawyer Ramkarpal Singh.<\/p>\n
Ramkarpal said Ooi would get in touch with Penang police to give a statement.<\/p>\n
“We will inform in due course when it is confirmed,” he told reporters at Parliament lobby on Monday.<\/p>\n
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar had urged Ooi to surrender himself.<\/p>\n
On Friday, Ooi re-tweeted a post with the words “Adios Harun Din. Let there be peace” soon after Dr Haron’s passing.<\/p>\n
Asked if Ooi would apologise over the incident, Ramkarpal said “it has been discussed between the party hierarchy and Ooi. It is perhaps in consideration.”<\/p>\n
Asked if Ooi\u2019s remarks were appropriate, Ramkarpal said they were not proper.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the case of the late Karpal Singh, there were some distasteful photographs published which were unthinkable.<\/p>\n
